Over more than 20 years of industry experience, Christopher Magor has edited thousands or peer-reviewed journal articles, as well as books, text books, monographs, and other publications for researchers from Japan and other countries. Christopher is experienced in working with authors for whom English is a second or additional language and understands the additional difficulties that such authors face in preparing their work for publication for an international audience.
As an accredited research integrity trainer and part of an experienced training team, Christopher collaborated in the planning and execution of tailored research integrity training programs attended by researchers from various countries. The virtue ethics-based programs provide hands-on instruction and interactive activities that teach the principles of ethical research.
Within the publishing world, Christopher is an active member of the Council of Science Editors, where he serves on the Editorial Policy Committee and Liaison between the Editorial Policy and Marketing and Communications Committees. Additionally, he also serves as a Crossref Ambassador for Japan.
As a passionate advocate of Open Science and Open Access Publishing, Christopher is committed to extending professional editing services to the developing world and has implemented a socially responsible pricing model that helps secure access to professional communications services and research integrity training to researchers in the developing world.
Christopher’s current areas of research and interest include artificial intelligence-related research ethics, ethical applications of artificial intelligence in research, writing, and editing, applications of generative artificial intelligence in education, and macro development.
